The Estate

The 15 hectares' vineyard is located in Gruaro a small village in the eastern area of the Geographical Indication (DOC) of Lison-Pramaggiore a few hundred meters from the border between Veneto and Friuli and 55 km from Venice.

The Terroir

The vines grow on two very different typologies of soils. A first area is situated around Ca' Basse (which means houses located in the lower part of the village) and is characterized by an alluvial soil clayey and stony. Here the vines grow where once a branch of the river Tagliamento flew and now are bordered by the river Lemene.
The second plot is located around the cellar and wine-shop in Molino street and is characterized by a clayey soil which confers the wines the qualities and standards typical of Lison-Pramaggiore Geographical Indication.
The estate lies in the venitian lowland between the Venetian-Friulan mountains and the Adriatic sea. This geographical position offers a climate that harmoniously combines the cold north-east winds with the mitigating sea breeze.
These weather conditions along with the soil peculiarities confer the grapes characteristics of great quality.

The Wines

The varieties of grapes we grow and consequently the wines we produce are Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Tocai (recently named Lison) as whites; Cabernet Franc, Cabernet sauvignon and Merlot as reds.
The vines are grown with the Sylvoz method with more than 3.300 plants per hectare and a quantitative production lower than the one authorized by the regulations of the Geographical Indication resulting in grapes of high quality.
